Armor Guide

Blue Heater 2 treats armor as a survival slot, not a second weapon. The chest you wear adds health, physical resistance, magic resistance, armor rating, and sometimes walk speed. It does not replace Strength on a scythe or Intelligence on a staff. Read this with the players hub and the stats guide so you do not recast a tree because a coat looked louder than the sheet.

The game is a released Roblox action RPG (15 June 2025, Frank Development, free on PC, mobile, console, and VR). Online co-op exists for PvE and PvP. Armor shops and boss chests assume that. Silent Snowfields shipped 12+ armor pieces in the same wave that raised the level cap from 24 to 48. Later floors added named legendaries. This page is the early ladder, the shields, the boss chests, and the Tower Sigil reroll. It is not a dye catalogue.

Early clothes you should actually equip

Adventurer Clothes (Lv1) are starter armor. You spawn in them. They exist so Queenstown is not a nude lobby. Replace them as soon as a shop or a craft is legal. Keeping them into Silent Snowfields is a choice, not a build.

Iron Armor (Lv3) is the first real plate for physical trees. It is a craft, not a Queenstown clothes rack. Community sheets at that level show a small HP pool, about 15% physical resistance, 5% magic resistance, armor rating in the low hundreds, and a walk-speed penalty. Confirm the live tooltip. The job of the piece is to match the Iron weapon line on weapon rankings while you leave Floor 1.

Magic Apprentice Robe (Lv9) is the mage chest. Queenstown sells the apprentice robe line up through that level. Enlightened Mage Burst and Elf healers should be on a robe, not on Iron Armor, because the plate is a physical kit with the wrong resist mix. If your Intelligence tree is wearing Iron Armor “for the HP,” you are paying walk speed and magic resist the wrong way. Copy the kit on build rankings first, then buy the robe.

Light Leather Coat (Lv14) is the mid-teen physical coat in the craft list. Documented figures at level 14 sit around 258 HP, 15% physical and 15% magic resistance, armor rating near 309, and a small walk-speed bonus. Demon Physical DPS and Fenris kits use this as the bridge off Iron Armor. Do not skip it to “save mats” for a legendary you cannot wear yet.

Shop rungs after that are floor shops, not a new system. Flywood Village Clothes sit in Queenstown. Snowfield Village Clothes and Sturdy Coat sit in Light Town around the Floor 2 shop band. Desert Robes sit in Sah’Rajin at the old level-48 desert breakpoint. Buy the floor’s starter clothes if you are naked. Do not treat village clothes as endgame.

Shields are a block slot

Armor is the chest. Shields are the off-hand you actually press block on. If you never guard, a greatshield is fashion. Learn the input on controls before you craft a second slab of obsidian.

Obsidian Shield (Lv12) is the first named obsidian check. An Obsidian Greatshield lives in the same craft family. Greatshields hit harder on Guard Power and usually cost walk speed. One-handers and players who already block get more out of them than staff users who never raise a guard.

Glacial Shield and Glacial Greatshield (Lv24) are the Silent Snowfields named checks. They sit at the Floor 2 band. A Fenris who kites can skip them. A Demon who already heals on kill still wants a glacial off-hand for the hits Soul Reaper cannot outpace. Staff mages should not force a greatshield just because the ice tooltip looks rare.

Later named shields exist on boss tables (Red Cooler from Orian, Blue Heater from Spectral Dragon, Moontear shields on Floor 4 quests). Those are loot, not a reason to respec. If a shield skill is greyed out, the problem is often a stats threshold or a missing skills unlock, not the chest you dyed last week.

Named legendaries worth a party

Orian’s Platemail drops from Orian in Desert of Death (Sun Palace). The same table is known for Red Cooler, Abyssal Voidflame, and Solflame Staff. Platemail is the tank chest Demon fronts and Elf healers chase once Light Leather Coat is a memory. Bring a party. The fight notes sit on bosses.

Straitjacket is legendary armor that Escaped Prisoner can drop. Do not pull that named threat on the way to a daily unless the party agreed. A legendary chest is not a reason to wipe a bounty run.

Dragon Armor still shows up in community build write-ups. In practice those lists usually mean Dragon Spirit Armor from Spectral Dragon at Castle Ellem, a later coordination dungeon, not a Queenstown craft. Treat the name as that chase. Confirm the live tooltip. Do not copy a 2025 screenshot as gospel after Lotus Lands.

The video in the middle of this page is a real Infernal Wolf farm. That clip calls the wolf drop the best armor in the game. The drop it is talking about is Primal Champion in the level 19–23 band. That was an honest Floor 1 chase when Silent Snowfields was new. It is not the last chest on a 2026 account. Use the video for the wolf route. Use this page for what dropped after.

Skeleton King still matters for Priest Plate and Red Cloak Armor. Those are Castle Mourne dungeon chests, not shop racks. Repeat the dungeon after the Floor 2 unlock if you want the body. Do not camp the king forever while Desert of Death is open.

Substats and Tower Sigils

Armor and weapons roll substats: armor rating, resistances, sometimes walk speed, sometimes junk. A legendary with a dead pair is worse than a lower-rarity chest with the right pair.

Tower Sigils drop from the Tower in Autumn Woods. Community tower guides put about an 80% Sigil chance on completed floors, plus coins. Enemies inside the Tower do not drop open-world loot. You climb for Sigils and milestone cosmetics, then you leave. The tower guide is the climb. This page is why the currency exists.

Spend Sigils to reroll substats on the piece you actually wear. Tower tutorials still use Priest Plate as the example: if the current pair is armor rating and physical resistance, Sigils can roll that pair into something better, something worse, or a negative. That is gambling with a farmed currency, not a free upgrade. Do not dump a stack into Adventurer Clothes. Do not reroll a chest you are about to replace with Platemail.

If you have never entered the Tower, your substats are whatever the drop or craft gave you. That is fine until the chest is a named legendary you intend to keep.

Match the chest to the kit

  • Mage Burst (Enlightened + Staff): Magic Apprentice Robe into later mage chests. Community kits still quote Golden Flame Armor (a heavy Sigil craft) and Skeleton Priest Robes. Intelligence and Focus on the sheet. See build rankings.
  • Physical DPS (Demon + Scythe or Sword): Iron Armor into Light Leather Coat into Orian’s Platemail. Strength and Vitality. Platemail is the desert goal, not a fashion overlay.
  • Crit Assassin (Fenris): Light leather and later mobility coats. Do not wear a walk-speed-penalty greatplate if your kit is dodge.
  • Tank Healer (Elf): Health and resistances. Platemail and priest-line chests beat vanity haori.

Companions do not add armor rating. A Legendary Nun does not replace Platemail. Bleeder Bits can recolor armor (not shields, not weapons) once dyes are unlocked. That is fashion. Recolor after the substats are worth keeping.

Where the rest of the chests come from

Dungeons and named bosses are how you leave the shop ladder. Castle Mourne, Cellar, Mines, Catacombs, Haunted Mansion, City Sewers, Melted Castle, and Lotus Lands instances all put armor on a table. Hidden orbs (Castle Mourne, Gleaming Cavern, Forgotten Castle, Vampire Lair, Castle Ellem) hide specific chests. If a video says “best armor,” ask which dungeon, which boss, and which level band.

Lotus Lands quests still hand out Sohei-style armor and Moontear gear as a bridge until Sreig legendaries. That is Floor 4 questing, not a fifth armor system. Read Lotus Lands and locations before you vendor a quest robe.

Upgrade crystals exist per floor. Recast and upgrade the chest you wear, the same rule as weapons in Middlebar. Leveling and getting started get you to the level gate. Armor with a level you cannot wear is a bank item.

Stop screenshot-farming Queenstown clothes once Light Leather Coat or a real robe is on the body. The chest that changes a Desert pull is Orian’s Platemail or a Straitjacket with rerolled substats, and neither of those cares about your Flywood Village dye.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Blue Heater 2 questions.

What armor should I wear first in Blue Heater 2?

Start in Adventurer Clothes (Lv1), craft Iron Armor (Lv3) on a physical tree, buy Magic Apprentice Robe (Lv9) on a mage, then craft Light Leather Coat (Lv14). Match the chest to the kit on build rankings.

Where does Orian's Platemail drop?

From Orian in Desert of Death (Sun Palace), on the same table as Red Cooler, Abyssal Voidflame, and Solflame Staff. Bring a party; notes sit on bosses.

How do I reroll armor substats?

Farm Tower Sigils in the Tower (Autumn Woods), then spend them on the chest you actually wear. The tower guide is the climb. Do not waste Sigils on starter clothes.

Can Escaped Prisoner drop Straitjacket?

Yes. Straitjacket is legendary armor on that named threat. Do not pull the prisoner on the way to a daily unless the party agreed.

Should mages wear Iron Armor?

No. Iron Armor is a physical craft. Mages want Magic Apprentice Robe and later mage chests so Intelligence kits keep the right resist mix. Spreads live on stats.

Is Infernal Wolf still the best armor farm?

It is a real Floor 1 farm for Primal Champion (about Lv19–23). Later chests such as Orian's Platemail, Straitjacket, and Dragon Spirit Armor outclass that band. Use dungeons and bosses for the current chase.
