Where to roll, what the rarities actually mean, and why a Legendary Nun still does not fight.
Companions in Blue Heater 2 are cosmetic followers. They walk behind you. They do not tank, they do not heal, they do not add Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence, and they do not proc Soul Reaper for you. If a thumbnail promised a combat pet, it was selling the thumbnail. The rest of the character still matters. Race is permanent, weapons scale, builds have S-tier kits. None of that is hiding inside a Slime model. Keep the players hub open if you still need the creation-order reminder: race, weapon, stats, then cosmetics.
Where to roll
Permanent stand: Queenstown in Flywood. This is the always-on Companion Stand. If you can walk back to the starter town, you can roll the live Floor 1 pool. You do not unlock combat power by standing there; you unlock a follower model.
Event stand: Sunshine Town. Limited companions sell during events. If you roll one, you keep the right to equip it after the event ends. You just cannot buy more copies from that stand until the event returns. That persist rule is why people spend Bits on a seasonal pet the last night of a festival and then feel smart in January. It is still a cosmetic.
Sunshine Town is also the stat-reset town. The same currency, Bleeder Bits, feeds both counters. That is the trap. A player who dumps a week’s dailies into companion rolls and then needs a respec after picking up Ragnarok Axe has to farm quests again. Some regions block paid gacha because companion rolls are treated as gambling. If the stand refuses Robux and only Bits work, that is expected. If the stand is missing entirely, you are not shadow-banned from combat; you just cannot buy pets. Your Demon scythe still swings.
Rarities are fashion odds, not DPS odds
The Floor 1 table is the one new players actually see:
- Common (~50%): Slime, Goblin, and other filler such as Malignroot. You will own these. They look fine next to an Iron Sword. They do not make the Iron Sword hit harder.
- Uncommon (~30%): Hauntling, Pyunnit, Lesser Daemon, Undead Guard. Same rule.
- Rare (~14%): Daemon Shaman, Sweellia, Dreadwood, Armored Skeleton Warrior, Lysposa. Still cosmetic.
- Super Rare (~5%): Gluttonous Daemon, Executioner, Buff Bee. The name is louder than the combat effect, which remains zero.
- Legendary (~1%): Nun. The chase. Screenshot bait. Not a raid buff. Do not rebuild a build because you finally rolled one.
Later floors add more models. The combat rule does not change on Floor 2, Floor 3, or Lotus Lands. A Floor 4 pet is still a pet.
Variants: Base, Radiant, Sparkling
Every companion species can roll three colorways:
- Base — default palette, most common.
- Radiant — second rarest, shifted colors.
- Sparkling — rarest palette.
A Sparkling Common Slime is still a Slime. A Base Nun is still a Nun. Variant does not add a hidden stat. Collectors care. Damage meters do not. If you are deciding between a Sparkling Goblin and upgrading an Iron Scythe, upgrade the scythe. The weapon rankings page is the spend that changes clears.
You can swap which companion is equipped without a stat reset. That is the one flexibility pets have that race does not. Unequip the Nun, equip the Slime, your 50 Strength is untouched. The reverse is also true: equipping the Nun does not invent 50 Strength.
What companions are not
They are not extra party members. Online team-up in Blue Heater 2 means other players, including an Elf healer if you want Nature’s Grace to exist. A follower model does not count as “healing others.”
They are not a substitute for mounts. Mounts change how you cross locations. Pets do not.
They are not a reason to pick Human. Golden Touch is already the weakest combat passive; adding a Legendary pet does not patch it. See race rankings if you were hoping the stand would save a gold-lineage main.
They are not required for bosses. Orian does not check whether a Nun is floating behind you before dropping Solflame Staff, Abyssal Voidflame, or Platemail. Sreig does not check before dropping Zetsukai or Metsurai.
They are not a promo code reward. There are no working codes. There is no official Trello that lists a secret combat pet. Community links stay on the wiki links page.
How to spend without feeling empty
- Copy a real kit from getting started and the tier list hub.
- Put Bits into a Sunshine Town stat reset if the tree is on the wrong damage stat.
- Put remaining Bits into the weapon you swing (Iron line, then Desert, then Lotus).
- Roll companions with the leftover, preferably during an event so the Sunshine Town persist rule works in your favor.
- Stop when you own a model you like. Extra Sparkling variants are a completionist hobby, not a leveling strategy.
If you play on a party night, spend the social energy on bringing an Elf or a second damage slot, not on showing the Nun. The pet will still be there when you screenshot the clear.
Treat the Nun chase as a leftover Bits sink after your stats and weapon upgrades are done. A Sparkling Slime does not parry Orian, and the stand will still be in Queenstown next week. Log out of the gacha, open the stats guide if the tree is crooked, and only come back to this page when the live slot already hits like the build rankings said it would.
